Nicely played! Definitely feeling the vibe on this. Get a cleaner recording and play it to a tempo / metronome in the background, maybe on your headphones so we can't hear and then upload the recording on the internet. Then go around newgrounds and find someone who plays drums or can make drum beats to add that to your piece and voila! You've made an awesome collab :)

P.S. If you do this and still can't find a person to play drums, I could make a drum beat for you and layer it with the Guitar to make awesomeness.

Wow! This is wonderful. Piano is such a nice instrument and the way you've played it is so good. Out of all your pieces, this one has moved me the most.

Very mystical vibe. Would fit well within a game environment, perhaps something like Timesplitters?

My thoughts:
- The mix down sounds a bit off. I'm not sure which instrument is doing it but something is cluttering the mix. Try getting them snares and hi hats to come through a bit more in the main sections and drop a bit on the kick.
- Use another cymbal + reverb + choppy effect at drops to accompany the other cymbal. It'll add more emphasis and sound pretty nice aswell.
- Add more hi hats, like a constant one during the beat but have the volume of each note differ so it plays in a sort of rhythm? Usually works well for Drum and Bass.
- Add more sound effects. Prodigy are renown for their crazy sounds sounds which actually make the track awesomer.

All in all, good job :)

Again a great piece. Very positive feel to it with an element of adventure. Your knowledge of classical composition is very good! Where did you learn to make pieces like this?

The only thing I can pick out which you could adjust slightly is the reverb. I feel there is a slight bit too much and toning it down a bit might result in a better sound. Again, this is probably to do with my personal preferences but you could always try and see how it sounds :)

Thanks! I study classical (well, contemporary really) composition, but stuff like this was something I picked up before that by simply listening to and analysing a crapload of classical music :)

And don't worry - you're spot on with the reverb. Sadly, what you hear here is just the natural room 'verb on the samples, tried to EQ some of it away but it didn't really work. Might redo this with some less reverby samples!

A very thoughtful piece, I really like it :) Good luck with the contest!

My criticisms:
I honestly haven't got much bad to say about the piece as it is pretty wonderful! The only things I've noticed that you could do differently, and this is only from personal opinion, are:
- Have the background instruments play a bigger role during the build up to around the 2 minute 20 mark. So after the main melody is introduced, have the instrument fall off to the background for a bit, making it quieter and bringing in the other instruments for a while and then reintroduce it later, combined with all the other instruments, to give it a greater effect.
- You could introduce another fun instruments before the 2 minute 20 mark to add some variety, perhaps something like a harpsichord or something more fitting and have it play some melodies while the main instrument takes a seat in the background.

Come back to the music world

Now!

Edit: 11 years later, June 26 2022, still a good time to make a come back my dude.

TRIPPY (!_!)

Halloween has come early this year! Good stuff mate.

Make your snares louder/crunchier, only slightly, and add a bit of reverb, it'll sound nice!

Keep up the good work.

Nicely done.

I like it mate! The melodies have a great feel to them and a certain amount of depth which complements the track nicely :) The drop is fairly heavy hitting, flows along nicely.

Tips:
1) Turn up the piano in the later parts of the song
2) Fade the wobbles out around 3:11 so we get to hear the brittleness of that wicked piano
3) Bring the voices back into it later on :]

nice advice. ill play with it some more for sure!

Darkness mixed with fear, I LIKE IT

Good job, the drop is sexy! I felt the darkness at the beginning and you topped it off with the argh reinforcing that fear/darkness present in the track! Nice job.

Tips:
1) Turn up your snares or add another snare ontop with a slight reverb, its gotta have more of a snap to it, well it doesn't have to, but it could work nicely :)
2) ALSO WHAT IS THAT MELODY AT THE END??? Man, you gotta do something with that! If not send it my way and i'll turn it into something! :P
3) Bit of reverb on the instrument at the beginning but add it as the track progresses so its very subtle, would add more depth to the track
4) Vary up the beat a little more at the first drop, so its 1 1 then beat 2 beat 3 or something, just a bit of variety so llike instead of 1 kick then snare have 2 kicks then snare

Hope the advice above helps a bit ^^
