Sounds cool

Thing is this genre itself is an overkill on newgrounds! The sort of happy trance type vibe has such a generic feel to it now as so many people on newgrounds do it! I'll drop some improvement points but I much more enjoyed your main menu theme!

Ok first you need some sort of bass accompanying the main section, second you need to work on build up structure and climax, so its build up climax then breakdown build up climax, thats the usual routine for trance and usually works kinda nicely but takes a while to master, i never really got the hang of it but have a listen to trance tracks and you'll soon get the idea! Change your kicks so that they are kick kick kick kick on each beat rather than having a sort of acousitc feel if you wanna go for the trance feel as these drums feel a bit out of place atm, so perhaps introduce some more powerful kicks and snares at the climax and that way you can keep the drums you have already by using them during the buildup and also add new ones keeping variety, a quick trick that works really nicely with filters, when in the lower band of the filter i.e. you cut off the higher frequencies, add a massive reverb and just listen to how the sound changes! its pretty immense

keep up the work mate :) and make some more of that melodic stuff you did for the other track! no need to keep it repetitive like all these trance songs, the melodies in your other track show you have potential for much much more :D

I like it! :)

Sounds like something for some sort of mystery RPG type game! Pretty cool! Its very simple yet works really nicely, the melodies are very nice and give it that feeling that you wanna press start and play the game already! The composition and progression of the track is nice aswell, its got the similar theme repeating throughout yet it doesnt sound repetitive! Good stuff! I think you've hit your description very well, would work very nicely for a RPG game main menu! Has a sort of japanese old school playstation vibe to it!

There are many more elements and themes you could try and explore with the track if you wanted to move out of the main menu zone but it does fit the theme well and sounds pretty nice! :)

Good stuff!

Thanks for leaving a review Jewlez I really enjoy your work as well. Almost all of them are great! I have a few on my favorites as you know :D

Good stuff!

QUALITY!!!! :D the track started out and I had no idea where it was gonna go then suddenly a small drop with a sexy beat and some nice melodies/synths jump in, great stuff! Felt refreshing! The changes in instruments and messing about with the wobbles kept the track interesting, good stuff! Keep up the good work! My only pointer would be that you could perhaps introduce a breakdown section and another buildup to make it a bit more dynamic rather than keeping the energy constant throughout!

DrumBug responds:

Hey :D
Thanks for the positive review dude :)
I'll to put a breakdown in there somewhere... But it'll be hard to thihk where to put it :?

But again thanks for the beaming review :)

Almost there!

This track has a nice sound effect thing going on, the rhythm is cool aswell but you need to add some variation dude and a monsterous drop at some point and it'll be sick! Keep at it mate and set me a pm when you make any new dubstep :)

CRomDayLeR responds:

sure I will sent you a PM!
thx for the review

HARD

ye dude I am feeling this track!! the way you edited the voice was pretty jokes! The track is simple yet effective with a solid drum beat and some nice wobbles, pretty cool suff! Keep up the good work!

You are one sick FUCK (in the good sense :P )

This track is pretty decent! I was just sat there at the start listening to the melodies praying that you would follow it up with a drop and you did!! Great stuff! The beat is also awesome!

A few pointers to make the track even better:
- Have the wobble come through a tad more on the higher frequencies
- I dunno why but the wobble sounds kinda distant at the moment!
- Have a bass come through to support the wobbles or promote the lower frequencies of the wobble like really low frequencies but I think you'd be better off adding a seperate bass, take the lowest frequency a notch down in the kick and the wobble and in that space you've created, put a hefty hefty bass!! If you want an example gimme a shout and I'll link you to a track that demonstrates what I'm on about

Apart from these, good stuff! Keep up the work my dubstep friend :)

p.s. keep me updated with your tracks!

superuberinsaneausm responds:

i really need to learn how to equalize my wobbles, i was tryin to get em loud but that just made it so i cant hear anything...

You got my body moving!

For that sir, you get a ten! Great track, sounds very nice and refreshing. You need to vary up that melody though, after a while it gets kinda repetitive. Like I know dubstep is repetitive in nature but some variation will lift the track a whole load! Other than that it sounds cool, perhaps have a cool down period where you take out all wobbles and then reintroduce it to have a hefty drop rather than a continuous one, that would also sound wicked!

Anyway, good job! Keep it up and keep me posted with your new stuff! I love newgrounds dubstep! :D

P.S. Ye we do need a dubstep genre, feels kinda tedious posting under drum and bass everytime

Fucking awesome dude!!!

You've pretty much nailed it! :) The synth used sound very similar to stuff I've heard played in holiday resorts in Turkey! So I have to agree when you say you've nailed the mediterranean feel! Great stuff! The drop towards to the end and that synth that comes in, fucking awesome!!! So SO sexy!! Great stuff! Good luck in the contest :)

djInTheDark responds:

Thanx a lot dude, glad you liked it. I really wanted the engineering for the pads to be as actuate to style as possible while still being original. I had a lot of fun with this one and am almost annoyed at myself for not saving it for my album coming up as for it was a very good turn out for this one. The bass towards the end is my favorite part and the most fun creating.

Thanx for the review!

The name got me interested!

But you need to make it a lot more powerful at the introduction!!!! Use that piano you used on one of your other tracks, with a really sad, sorrowful melody and this will raise the track tenfold no doubt! I can feel the emotion behind the track, you just need to upgrade your strings and put that awesome PIANO skills that you have into practise! :)

Back in the flow of things!
